Stopgap 1100 offers the solution for grand refurbishment.
Stopgap 1100 smoothing compound has been used
to achieve a luxurious floor finish for a beautiful
family home, set in rural Leicestershire. The high
performance product is specially formulated for
use over calcium sulphate screeds, and was specified
for the ground floor refurbishment of the kitchen,
breakfast room and utility room areas in the
property.
Stopgap 1100 was then applied over the primed
surface at a thickness of 3mm. The formulation
of the product is calcium sulphate based to ensure
compatibility with this type of subfloor screed,
and provided a smooth and level surface prior to
the installation of the final Amtico floorcovering.
To begin the installation, contractors cleaned and
suitably prepared the 130m2 anhydrite surface,
before applying two coats of Stopgap P121 primer.
The use of the acrylic primer is recommended
when using Stopgap 1100, as it helps to promote
the adhesion of the smoothing compound to the
calcium sulphate surface, and prevents the product
drying too rapidly, which can cause cracks and
imperfections in the finished surface.
